Split Face
If you take horizontal cuts of a variety of different types and thickness of marble and then fix them all to a common substrate, you’ll have created split face marble. This intricate and elegant approach is a great way to strike meaningful contrasts between different veins and shades.

If you’re unfamiliar with the term ‘splitface tiles’ or, as they’re sometimes referred to, ‘split face tiles,’ they essentially consist of strips of a particular material, which are cut to different widths, heights and thicknesses, and are arranged to create a staggered, multi-levelled surface.
